BARRISTER ETUKWU ONAH was born to the family of Mr Onah/lny Angbe Etukwu (both deceased) of Odaz leko Anchim lyeche ward, Oju Local Government Area, Benue State on the 2 September, 1970.
He had his early education at St. Charles Catholic School Odaleko before proceeding to Government Secondary School Obusa, Oju Local Government Area, Benue State for my secondary education and finished in 1984.
He gained admission to the school of Basic Studies Makurdi but due to ill-health, he withdrew until 1988 and completed study in School of Basic Studies in 1990, gained admission same year to read law in Ahmadu Bello University Kongo Campus Zaria which he completed in 1995 and proceeded to the only law school in Nigeria then in Lagos for the mandatory programme to be called to the Nigeria Bar and was enrolled at the Supreme Court of Nigeria having successfully completed the law school in 1996. He was posted to Borno State for the mandatory youth service in 1996 and concluded same in 1997 having served in the law firm of ISA BURATAI & CO in Maiduguri, a kind hearted man though a Muslim kept him in his house throughout his stay in Maiduguri. He still keeps in touch with the great family and other friendship he made while there in Maiduguri. Immediately after his Youth Service, he relocated to Abuja where he has been practising law till date.
In further development of his career, he attended a course on mediation and conciliation organized by the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in August 2002 and after successfully pursuing a Master’s Degree in Law, at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
He was appointed Special Assistant (Special Duties) to Senator Daniel I. Saror, Senate Deputy Minority Leader in February 2005 on a part time basis.
He is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and also a member of the law society of the UK and Scotland.
In March 2006, he was appointed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria as a Notary Public of Nigeria and sworn in by the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Etukwu Onah is widely travelled has friends across Nigeria and overseas, he is happily married to Mrs. Ruth Agbaje Onah and blessed with a son, George.
A philanthropist, he is deeply involved in community development and services, he is a Rotarian, having served in all the avenues of service and a past president of Rotary.
